"IVORY. A Crime Story" will be shown at Moscow International Film Festival
The special screening of Sergey Yastrzhembskiy's documentary "Ivory. A Crime Story" will be held on June, 28 within the framework of the 38th Moscow International Film Festival.
3 years of shooting, 30 countries, over 250 hours of raw material provided the basis for the investigation documentary «IVORY. A CRIME STORY» about the causes and consequences of an unprecedented demand for ivory. In pursuit of ivory, poachers kill not only the elephants, but also people who are trying to stop this madness at the expense of their own lives.
The first screening of English version «Ivory. A Crime Story» took place in April at the Film Festival in New York. Festival jury highly praised the documentary, and it won the main prize.
The English version is voiced by well-known journalist in Kenya Jeff Koinange, winner of the American television Emmy Award for reporting of catastrophic famine events in Niger.
Russian version of the film is voiced by the Honoured Artist of Russia – Sergey Chonishvili.
Film director and writer Sergey Yastrzhembskiy will present the documentary screening in Russia. The project partners–producers from Kenya and France will come to Moscow especially for premiere. Among the expected guests will be politicians, journalists, filmmakers, actors, businessmen.
